Faith Formation has a number of volunteer Teams: Family Formation, Youth Ministry, RCIA, College, Adult/Lifelong Learning. These are groups of interested parishioners who help brainstorm and implement plans for faith formation programs in the Parish.
The Family Formation Team will have a meeting Tuesday August 10 at 6:30pm at church. All interested teen and adult parishioners (not just parents) are welcome to join the FF Team. We will be discussing plans September Family Orientation and our first lessons in October. We have an exciting year planned with a new family-based curriculum. We will need volunteers to help bring our plans to life. If you have a heart for involving more families into parish life and finding ways for the parish to support our families, then join the FF Team. Contact Kelley to get on the email list so you will be notified of all upcoming meetings.
For the past two years, Youth Ministry has been focused on High School age teens. In the coming year we want to expand to include grades 7-12. This means we need more volunteers with a heart for working with teens. YM will meet on Wednesday evenings during the school year, starting September 8th. There will also be some special weekend events throughout the year.
When older youth and adults wish to receive the sacraments, they need people to accompany them through this process. We are looking to create a team that will help develop a year-round RCIA program in our parish. If you are interested in being a part of this process- please contact Kelley Tansey at email@example.com. No expertise necessary- just a love of your faith and a desire to walk with someone on this journey.
We are looking to build a team of parishioners who will work to reach out to our neighbors at Iowa Wesleyan as well as maintain contact with our homegrown young people who have graduated high school. To start our outreach, we have plans to have weekly lunches at Iowa Wesleyan in the Fall. Please contact Kelley Tansey at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested.
Faith Formation does NOT end with Confirmation. We are looking to build a team of parishioners who are interested in developing lifelong learning opportunities for parishioners of all ages. This year we will be offering two programs for adults in the parish. The first will be focusing on the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the second will focus on the Eucharist. We also have resources for adults that want to start a small faith groups Please contact Kelley Tansey at email@example.com if you are interested in being a table discussion leader for one or both of these programs.
